Back to Practice AreaThe City of Frederick, Maryland fully renovated and expanded a former state office building and its site to provide a consolidated headquarters for the Frederick Police Department. The existing building was built in 1994, is four stories and 65,304 sf, sitting on a 24,093 sf lot. Becker Morgan Group was engaged as the public safety consultant, providing expertise and significant experience in the planning and design of public safety buildings, including police, fire, EMS, 911, and emergency operations. As part of a design/build team, Becker Morgan Group provided expertise in law enforcement space programming and operational layout; secure sally port and DoJ compliant detainee areas; evidence and property processing, forensics, and secure evidence storage. The project utilized Construction Manager at Risk (CMr) delivery process.
