J. Michael Riemann, P.E. Nominated to the Water Infrastructure Advisory Council

Becker Morgan Group Principal, J. Michael Riemann, P.E. was named to the Water Infrastructure Advisory Council (WIAC) for the State of Delaware. Mike was nominated by Delaware Governor John Carney, confirmed by the Delaware Senate Executive Committee, and approved by the full Delaware State Senate. WIAC initiates, develops and recommends projects to the Delaware General Assembly for the planning, construction, repair, renovation, or expansion of drinking water and wastewater facilities. The council provides guidance and policy advice to the Governor and the Secretaries of DNREC, DHSS, and the Department of Finance. WIAC helps develop funding options for capital and maintenance programs related to drainage, stormwater management, and flood control throughout Delaware. The Council also assists in the development and evaluation of criteria for watershed-based plans for surface water management.
Mike has 18 years of civil engineering experience and helps lead Becker Morgan Group’s Delaware operations. He is actively involved in professional and community organizations, serving on a variety of boards and advisory committees including the DNREC Regulatory Advisory Committee and the Kent County Building Code Review Committee. He has served the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Delaware in a variety of capacities, including his current role as National Director and previously as President from 2016-2018. In 2019 Mike was named to the Engineering News Record (ENR) Mid-Atlantic Top 20 Under 40 list, and he was named Young Engineer of the Year by the Delaware Council of Engineering Societies in 2015. Mike is honored to utilize his technical skills to continue to serve the State of Delaware in his new role with the WIAC.
