Becker Morgan Group Honored for a State of Delaware First

The annual Governor’s Agricultural and Urban Conservation Awards recognized Becker Morgan Group for innovation on the Kenton Dollar General project, which features the first Submerged Gravel Wetland in Delaware.
Through this cost effective design, the Becker Morgan Group team – led by J. Michael Riemann, P.E., Principal, and Jonathan Street, Civil Designer – overcame challenging site conditions posed by the high groundwater table and environmentally sensitive areas surrounding the location. Riemann comments, “We are pleased our solution contributes to conservation in our local community and caring for our state’s watersheds.”
Urban Conservation Award recipients are honored each year for demonstrating originality and outstanding community service. In partnership with Delaware Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), the Kent Conservation District hopes their approval of the Submerged Gravel Wetland will encourage its use on other sites where traditional stormwater management practices aren’t feasible.
