Dover Downs operates as two distinct and publicly traded companies, Dover Downs Gaming & Entertainment, Inc. and Dover Motorsports, Inc. and is the home to NASCAR racing twice a year, as well as the annual Firefly Music Festival. The speedway complex, known as the “Monster Mile”, encompasses 790 acres, while the hotel and casino occupies approximately 70 acres. Our team has been providing extensive design services since 1995, including comprehensive master plans for both entities. The master planning work includes site plan approvals, utility infrastructure, and parking/circulation/road improvements throughout the properties.

Becker Morgan Group has also made numerous improvements inside the track including race team campgrounds in the infield area and the addition of SAFER barriers around the track. These Steel and Foam Energy Reduction (SAFER) barriers act to absorb impact and reduce the initial force of a crash. Architectural services have included corporate office design, maintenance facilities, NASCAR garages, restrooms, and an onsite medical center. Numerous unique design projects at Dover International Speedway include the one-of-a-kind DuPont Monster Bridge, the award-winning Velocity Skybox, and the fan-favorite Victory Plaza featuring the larger-than-life Miles the Monster, a 46-foot statue holding a full-sized race car in his outstretched hand.
