Dover International Speedway | Monster Monument & Victory Plaza

Becker Morgan Group has been providing Civil Engineering, Surveying, and Architecture services at Dover International Speedway since 1995. The FanZone project encompasses 7.8 acres of land, and Victory Plaza is the center of the FanZone with the Monster Monument as the iconic centerpiece. The “Miles the Monster” monument pays tribute to the Speedway’s “Monster Mile” racetrack, and stands 46 feet tall with a full-size stock car in its hand. The base includes commemorative plaques of race winners through the years. Colored concrete pavers, monument uplighting, and general plaza lighting and speakers were added to complete the effect. The project began as an interactive entrance plaza and pathway for future FanZone amenities. Plaza features were created to match the scale of the surrounding track and fan devotion to the sport.
