Overlooking the Assawoman Bay and Ocean City skyline beyond, this elegant golf clubhouse rests among the plush, rolling terrain of one of the finest golf courses on the east coast. The bay, the St. Martins River, and the Isle of Wight Wildlife Management Area provide the site with soft boundaries of tidal marsh and wetlands, enhancing the facility’s spectacular seaside location. The 20,000 sf clubhouse includes a full-service, upscale restaurant and bar, pro shop, locker rooms, golf cart storage, and a classroom. With its rambling, shingle clad exterior, the clubhouse draws its inspiration from the architectural heritage of the seaside resorts of New England.
Resembling a lighthouse, the tower ascends from the main roof and provides a focal point along the shore, with a series of gables surrounding the tower. The main roof sweeps down over the bayfront verandas to shade diners from the summer sun. Flanked by two decorative trellises, the gable over the curved glass wall is punctuated by a large round window, a metaphorical reference to golf.
