The Landing Bar & Bistro

The project consisted of a 5,200 SF renovation of the existing restaurant within the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel – Norfolk Airport, transforming the dining experience for both hotel guests and visitors. The design focused on creating a more open, welcoming environment by seamlessly connecting the restaurant to the hotel lobby, encouraging activity, and enhancing guest interaction. A key feature of the renovation was the enlarged centralized bar, reimagined to better accommodate travelers and provide a vibrant social hub within the hotel. The restaurant now offers a variety of seating options, including comfortable lounge seating positioned to maximize natural light from the adjacent atrium, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. Additional enhancements include a private dining space with direct patio access, offering flexibility for intimate gatherings or special events, as well as a relocated breakfast buffet designed for improved flow and convenience during peak service hours. To further support the hotel’s operations, the renovation introduced a new conference room, expanding the property’s meeting and event capabilities and complementing its already robust gathering spaces. Overall, the renovation blends functionality with a contemporary guest experience, reinforcing the DoubleTree’s commitment to hospitality, comfort, and versatility.
