“We are fortunate to have attracted the best and brightest talent, a tradition we intend to continue. While we are pleased to have been recognized with numerous design awards, we're proudest of our contribution to the built environment and communities where we live.”
W. Ronald Morgan, AIA

Ron founded Becker Morgan Group in 1983 along with business partner Tom Becker when the two realized Maryland’s Eastern Shore as a new frontier in need of a creative firm focused on private work. At the time, other firms were focused on public and institutional design. This opportunity enabled Becker Morgan Group to take on engaging projects in the residential and hospitality sectors and find quick success there. Ron’s goal from the outset was to grow in tandem with the Shore while building a reputation as the firm that could adeptly manage an aesthetically driven project no matter what the project size.
By 1993, the firm grew to more than 50 people, with a second office opening in Dover, Delaware. Led by Gregory V. Moore, the Dover office was a chance to replicate the firm’s success in another region where the firm was already working, but now with a base of operations that could strengthen Becker Morgan Group’s name and fortify the firm’s relationships. Again under Ron’s leadership, a third office was opened in 2007 in Wilmington, North Carolina, and a fourth in 2015 in Newark, Delaware.
As President, Ron oversees the firm’s four offices, 30 shareholders, and nearly 100 employees. He encourages a collaborative environment, where ideas and insights are valued, and ultimately lead to higher quality results. This approach, plus an emphasis on recruiting, cultivating, and rewarding top talent, has allowed for significant growth.
With 40+ years in the field of architecture, Ron is invigorated by the next generation of architects, engineers, surveyors, and interior designers. For Ron, design is at the foundation of every decision, including mentoring new talent. He sets the standard for design leadership, from conceptual design to design oversight through construction.
In the current climate of limited budgets and hard-to-acquire financing, Ron sees quality design and skillful project management as a differentiator that has provided a strong foundation of repeat clients.
Ron earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the past president of the Maryland Society of Architects, as well as the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of AIA, having served in a leadership capacity with each organization for several years. Ron remains active in civic and community organizations, including The Greater Salisbury Committee, an organization committed to promoting economic growth in the Salisbury, MD area.
