West Salisbury Elementary School

This 350-student, 60,949 sf elementary school provides 16 classrooms for students in PreK through second grade and includes an art and music room, gymnasium, cafeteria, media center, and spaces for Title One and special programs. The design provided a facility to accommodate changes to instruction and instructional support programs and to minimize project costs. Phase One included hazardous material abatement, demolition, utility extensions to maintain operations at an existing modular complex to remain operational during construction, and installation of the geothermal wellfield. Phase Two included construction of the building, relocation of the modular complex, and completion of all site work. The project is LEED Gold Certified.
