Salisbury University | Chester & Choptank Residence Hall Renovations

Back to Practice Area

The design-build team of Becker Morgan Group/Whiting-Turner provided services for Salisbury University’s Choptank and Chester Residence Hall renovations. These projects entailed the complete modernization of the residential environment including replacement of the deteriorating building systems, life safety, building code and accessibility upgrades, as well as renovations and additions to the first floor layouts, toilet room renovations, elevators upgrades, and roof replacements. The renovated residence halls feature Living Learning Communities with smart classrooms that double as study spaces, suite and cluster-style rooms designed to create unique spaces for a community feel, and large common areas with flat-screen TVs and pool tables. LEED Silver Certification was achieved for both Chester Hall and Choptank Hall.
