Wesley College Plazas
Back to Practice AreaWesley College Plazas provide a safe environment for pedestrians in an established urban fabric, while enhancing the College’s image of a welcoming institution. In a unique collaborative effort between Wesley College, the City of Dover, and the State of Delaware, the College engaged our team to create a place where students, faculty, and the community can gather, mingle, and coexist. Our team facilitated the efforts to abandon several streets and design improvements to create a more walkable campus within their City of Dover college grounds, including providing services for the right-of-way vacation and prepared a site development master plan. Improvements included a detailed demolition of campus streets, drainage improvements, improved site lighting, brick paver walkways, and hardscape bench areas around the center of campus. The project went through all necessary agency approvals, including the City of Dover Historic District Commission. Our team was able to help garner innovative funding, navigate complex utility issues, and implement sustainable solutions, while also delivering the Wesley College Plazas on time and under budget.
